This drawing is somewhat inspired by the Bolshoi’s interpretation of the Polovtsian dances.
Prince Igor is an opera composed by Russian chemist and composer Aleksander Borodin. In this opera there’s a scene known as Polovtsian dances. “Polovtsian” is the Russian name for the Cumans and Kipchaks – allegedly Turkic nomadic people from the Middle Ages.
